subsidised business units

WYEC does not just provide business training and counselling. If you need space to get your business under way, then there might also be accommodation available at WYEC's Broadway Studios. There are 25 business units varying in size from 15sq metres to 47 sq metres (150 - 500 sq ft), rented out on flexible terms. The prices vary depending on size and are subsidised for the first 2 years, gradually climbing towards what you would pay commercially for the same sq. metres in Tooting. Normally, you would then find outside accommodation and give up your business (or "incubator") unit for another young business to start up in.

Part of the counselling process is to discuss with your counsellor what is involved and what is available. If you cannot work from home and need a small unit, office or workshop, then one of WYEC's incubator units could be the answer. But remember, if you decide to start your business elsewhere, all of WYEC's services are still available to you. You can still get free business counselling and support for up to 2 years after starting, so long as you have been a WYEC client.

After your 2 years business support at WYEC, one place you might consider moving on to is Trident Centre. This is located only half a mile from Broadway Studios, and is a fully commercial business space managed by WYEC. Trident Business Centre provides commercial managed workspace for small and medium sized businesses that have a successful trading history (and you don't have to have been a WYEC client to get in there).
