WYEC celebrated its 20th Anniversary, by hosting it's first ever Business Trade Fair and evening Gala Awards Ceremony. This event took place on September 18th 2008 and featured guest speakers Levi Roots (Reggae Reggae Sauce & Dragons Den fame), Tim Campbell (winner of The 2005 Apprentice & Founder of the Bright Ideas Trust) and Dave VJ (Choice FM presenter).
The Business Trade Fair showcased extremely young talented individuals who had successfully completed WYEC's business training and counselling programme, and had outstanding ideas and products on the general market. Also in attendance were youth oriented agencies, business support, and training and education organisations. Free business skills workshops were available, as well as inspirational and motivational talks and a Q & A session from our guest speakers.
The Gala dinner ceremony saw the presentation of a number of awards to young achievers in the business world for categories such as Best Newcomer, Most Environmentally Conscious Business and Most Creative Business among many others.
The evening was a great success with over 250 people in attendance.
